Lundberg Siberians

Siberians have nice personalities, lovely voices, and make wonderful companions. Our kittens are raised in the house with lots of daily attention, and are exceptionally gentle with children. Many of our kittens live in homes with moderate to severe allergies. If you are considering a Siberian because of allergens, please read our discussions on Feline Allergens.

The term "hypoallergenic cat" is often used to describe Siberians. Large scale testing (over 400 Siberians were studied by Siberian Research) showed roughly half of Siberians have reduced levels of Fel d1 allergen, and 15% had very low levels.

Families with a history of horse/rabbit reactions or egg allergies should be careful about bringing a cat into the home. The following link discussing Secondary Cat Allergens explains these concerns in more detail. About 80% of individuals with horse/rabbit or egg/meat allergies will show some reaction to low-Fel d1 Siberians.

Over the past five years we have developed tests to measure Fel d1 allergen production in kittens. We test our litters and have licensed the tests to several Siberian breeders. For information, see KittenTesting.com

Veniamin Black Pedigree Allergen 4.09 mcg
Veniamin "Pasha" is a cream spotted mackerel tabby male. He came from the Black cattery in Moscow.
He is very affectionate, loves walks in the yard, and being held and brushed.

Pasha causes very few reactions in cattery visitors, and his kittens place well in homes with cat allergies. Pasha's kittens tend to have shorter coats than most Siberians and are much easier to care for.

Waterlily Ballana Pedigree Allergen 2.2 mcg Ballana is a warm black classic girl with the size and coat of a traditional Siberian. She is quite gentle and affectionate.
She is a stunning show-quality girl from the mating of award winning Siberkot Rocky Mountain and Birchgrove Valeria of Waterlily. Lin Dower of Waterlily Siberians raised this beautiful affectionate girl.

Lundberg Mariposa Pedigree Allergen 0.7 mcg Mariposa is pretty Lynx Point w/white from our "F" litter. She was named for the butterfly markings around her eyes.
She is a sweet gentle girl, and enjoys quiet naps curled up on a blanket.

Mariposa lives with a family with allergies in Portland, about an hour north of us.
